Our Heritage & Culture Tour incorporates a combination of the best of Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage hotspots with your choice of accommodation, and highest quality service, in the most beautiful natural settings and destination.

The tour begins with a two-day adventure through Sri Lanka’s unforgettable cultural triangle of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Dambulla where you will experience ancient Sri Lanka in all its past royal glory, and then continue from there up to the hill capital of Kandy the home of the sacred Tooth Relic.

From here you travel further up into the cool and misty climes of ‘Little England’ Nuwara Eliya and its colonial architecture, where the roads wind through tea plantations growing world famous Ceylon Tea, to some of the most picturesque natural sceneries on the island.

From there on you will move into the central highlands to explore the breath-taking vistas on a hike through the protected Horton Plains and World’s End, before descending down to the sunny South coast beaches of Galle with its own grand monument of Sri Lanka’s colonial past and its own natural splendour.

Your final night is for exploring the city life of Colombo and its suburbs with all of its arts, culture and entertainment, and of course gourmet dining at some of the finest establishments on offer – an eclectic fusion of east and west.


Arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport to a warm welcome from your chauffeur guide who will transfer you to Negombo, just six kilometres away.

Depending on your arrival time, you could rest and recuperate at the hotel or explore the city’s fishing village for its fresh exotic seafood, and the colonial Dutch Fort to observe the bustling seaside town and its dwellers as they go about their busy daily lives. Alternatively, simply lounge at the beach and enjoy some cold beverages and a special gourmet feast of a complimentary mixed seafood platter.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Habarana to explore the ancient cities of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Dambulla, as well as the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Each of these sites have all played their parts in Sri Lanka’s history, and will find their stories as impressive as their architecture and grandeur.

After lunch, visit the village of Hiriwaduna and trek through its natural beauty and experience the everyday lives of its inhabitants, and enjoy their hospitality. This includes a catamaran ride on the lotus filled lake and a cart ride through the village and its environs. (Optional)

Breakfast at the hotel, and travel to the Polonnaruwa cultural site.

Visit the beautiful forested Polonnaruwa archaeological park and its stunning list of ancient structures – palaces, temples, tombs, and stupas.

At lunchtime, ask your guide about our special Sri Lankan family lunch option. An authentic Sri Lankan culinary feast served to you in a traditional village family home – a truly unforgettable experience.

Back at the hotel, spend your afternoon relaxing by the pool, or try out a jeep safari to the Minneriya National Park, or Kaudulla to see wild elephant herds gathering by the watering holes. (Optional)

Breakfast at the hotel, and travel to Sigiriya to climb up the world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and be amazed at its natural beauty and artistic splendour as you climb up through its famed frescoes and ancient graffiti along its mirror wall. The view from among the remains of King Kassapa’s palace is an unforgettable experience.

After lunch relax by the pool back at the hotel, or rejuvenate yourself with a traditional Ayurveda treatment at a spa. (Optional)

After breakfast, set out for Kandy, and stop by in Dambulla for a visit to another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Dambulla Golden Temple, with its beautifully preserved examples of Buddhist art and sculpture within its extensive gold cave complex.

In transit to Kandy, stop at Matale for a walk through one of Sri Lanka’s famous spice gardens, home to the worlds’ highest quality cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms, pepper and other exotic spices.

Arrive in the historic hill capital of Kandy, and be entertained by the colourful cultural music and dance performance before visiting the sacred Temple of the Tooth to pay your respects.

Kandy is the seat of the last King of Sri Lanka, with the Temple of the Tooth being the last Royal Palace Complex, hence Kandy has a special sense of culture and history that is evident in its art and traditional dance.

After breakfast, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens – home to over four thousand species of exotic plant specimens, and view the spice gardens, orchid house, the natural pavilion fig tree, and many more beautiful sections.

Afterwards visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage and view orphaned and disabled elephants being cared for and rehabilitated. Enjoy lunch while watching the elephants bathe in the Mahaweli River.

Travel back to Kandy and enjoy an evening of shopping and a city tour with a visit to Upper Lake Drive for the best view of the city and some iconic photographs. A walk through the market is also recommended for a look at the local fruits and vegetable, and the arts and crafts shops with traditional Sri Lankan batiks and brassware. The Kandy Lake promises vibrant sunsets during an evening stroll around its banks and is great setting for some holiday photographs.

After breakfast transfer to the colonial hill station of Nuwara Eliya – the heartland of Ceylon Tea, and called Little England due to its cool climes and misty mountains. En-route visit a traditional tea factory and visit the tea pluckers at work and learn how to choose just the right tea leaf. Later on visit the famed Ramboda Falls.

After lunch, take a walk around the town and stroll through the park, or visit the picturesque little Anglican Chapel, the horse racetrack, and the beautiful old colonial style golf club for some light refreshment.

Lake Gregory, in the heart of the town, is a great place for a stroll and promises some beautiful picture settings in addition to the many public leisure activities offered along its banks such as boat rides etc.

Early departure to Horton Plains, and World’s End for an unforgettable trek through a unique biodiversity hotspot with rolling grassy plains and cloud forest, home to a wide variety of endemic flora and fauna.

After this, your chauffeur will drive you to the Nanu Oya Train Station to begin a magical train journey through the winding misty hills to Ella, where your car awaits you for transfer to your hotel.

After lunch, stroll through Ella town, or choose between hiking up Little Adam’s Peak, or up the famous Ella Rock.

Departure after breakfast to the Southern coastal town of Galle, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site the Galle Fort, a former Dutch bastion beautifully preserved. A walk around the fort and its grand architecture, shops and museums and churches is highly recommended. In addition, a visit to a turtle hatchery to get up close to the rescued and protected baby turtles is an amazing experience.

After lunch spend some leisure time at the hotel, or spend a relaxing day at the sunny pristine beaches of the South Coast.

After breakfast, depart Galle for Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling commercial and financial capital, where you can explore the many remnants of its colonial past, do some last minute shopping, and experience its varied dining and entertainment options. Optionally you can also choose to stay in Negombo as well and enjoy its more relaxed atmosphere.

Dinner and overnight Stay in  the Ocean Colombo/ Camlot Beach Negombo.


Proceed to the Airport in time for the connecting flight, with what we hope will be plenty of happy memories. See you again soon!
